FTI CONSULTING PARTNERS WITH CPR TO OFFER CYBERSECURITY TRAINING TO CPR NEUTRALS

Arbitrators and mediators on CPR’s Panel will learn about current and emerging cyber threats and will come away with practical mitigation techniques and guidance

The FTI Cybersecurity practice takes an intelligence-led, strategic approach to global cybersecurity challenges affecting organizations – their people, their processes, and their reputation. This enables clients of any size to address their most critical needs and integrate new solutions atop or alongside pre-existing policies and programs to address cyber threats.

The CPR-FTI Consulting “Cybersecurity in ADR” training, to be offered at no cost to CPR neutrals, comprises three modules:

  • Current and emerging cyber threats
  • Practical tips for arbitrators and mediators on mitigating cybersecurity risks
  • The ICCA-CPR-NYC Bar Association Protocol on Cybersecurity in International Arbitration, which will offer practical guidance for counsel, arbitrators and institutions with regard to data security

Initially offered live via webinar on three dates (still to be determined) beginning in April, the training will thereafter be archived so that CPR neutrals who were not able to attend live may access it at their own convenience or view it again as a refresher. The training will be offered to CPR Neutrals on an annual basis so that they can stay abreast of new developments in cybersecurity.

With this training, CPR continues to lead the way for cybersecurity in ADR. In addition to CPR’s participation in the Working Group, CPR recently created a
Cyber Panel, consisting of neutrals who are expert in resolving all types of cyber disputes relating to data breaches and other cybersecurity issues, including insurance coverage disputes.

CPR was also the first institution to include a cybersecurity provision in its
arbitration rules, encouraging parties to consider matters of cybersecurity at the onset of an arbitration.

“Not surprisingly, given their caliber, the distinguished neutrals on CPR’s panel have not only been following cyber issues closely, but are keenly aware that cyber-attacks and data breaches can threaten the confidentiality and very integrity of the ADR process,” said CPR President & CEO, Noah J. Hanft. “Partnering with FTI Consulting’s Cybersecurity practice, true experts in this field, is just another example of CPR’s mission: to be ever-attuned and responsive to the needs of its members, neutrals and the broader ADR community.”
