CPR WELCOMES CHAN LEE OF SANOFI AND ASSURANT'S CAREY ROBERTS TO ITS BOARD OF DIRECTORS 

Chan Lee is Sanofi’s North America General Counsel and a member of the Legal Steering Committee. Carey Roberts is Executive Vice President, Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary of Assurant, Inc., and a member of the company’s Management Committee.

CYBERINSECURITY:
A NEW PROTOCOL TO COUNTER CYBERATTACKS IN INT'L ARBITRATION

"IN TODAY'S ENVIRONMENT of ever-escalating data breaches in all sectors of society, international arbitration is not immune to cyberattacks. And a failure to implement reasonable cybersecurity protocols may have dramatic consequences for the players involved. In fact, given the sensitivity of the information involved in complex international disputes, international arbitrations may well become a prime target for cybercriminals unless defensive measures are quickly adopted."

So write CPR's Vice President, International and Dispute Resolution Services, Olivier P. André, along with Hagit M. Elul and Pavlos Petrovas of Hughes Hubbard, in their just-published article for Legal BlackBook / CyberInsecurity, discussing the recently drafted protocol to counter cyberattacks in international arbitration.

UNCITRAL FINALIZES CONVENTION & MODEL LAW DRAFTS ON INT'L SETTLEMENT AGREEMENTS RESULTING FROM MEDIATION

Earlier this year, we reported on the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) Working Group II’s progress towards finalizing a convention on the enforcement of international commercial settlement agreements resulting from mediation.

As reported by CPR Distinguished Neutral and CPR Mediation Committee Co-Chair Erin Gleason Alvarez, for CPR Speaks, on June 25, 2018 UNCITRAL finalized the draft Convention on International Settlement Agreements Resulting from Mediation, to be known as the Singapore Convention, and also finalized the draft Model Law.
